July 12-14th, preservationists, urban planners, activists, and thought-leaders from around the nation will converge in Buffalo. Presented by Preservation Buffalo Niagara and Buffalo’s Young Preservationists, the third Legacy Cities Conference: Historic Preservation in America’s Legacy Cities, will be held . The conference theme is reGENerated, asking the question What kind of city do we want? as our nation’s post-industrial cities retool themselves to meet the challenges of the 21st century.
Some of the most nationally-recognized names in preservation and revitalization will be speaking and presenting. Admission to the full three-day conference is only $95 ($30 for students).
The welcome keynote event will be free and open to the public, at Babeville (corner of Delaware Avenue & Tupper Street) at 7:00 PM on Thursday, July 12. The keynote will be given by LISC President Maurice Jones, with a welcome by Jessie Grogan of the Lincoln Institute.
After the keynote at 9:00 PM, join Buffalo’s Young Preservationists for a BYP Happy Hour at Founding Fathers Pub (75 Edward Street), one of the nation’s most unique neighborhood taverns. Everyone is welcome!
